AH! We Have Thrush!

I woke up today and realized Peanut had a lot of white spots on his tongue and lips and they didn't wash off. So I started making phone calls and finally got through to his doctor and got him in today. I already suspected it was thrush because I also had sore nipples with red spots on them. Sounds like thrush. We got to the doctor's office and find out is is thrush. Now Little Man is on Diflucan and I have a cream.

This wouldn't be so bad if we weren't going camping this weekend. I'm not sure how he will do with the thrush and a new environment. At least we aren't going very far.

So for those of you that don't know, thrush is a yeast infection in the baby's mouth and in the mother's breast tissue. We have to wash everything that comes in contact with my boobs and sterilize all his pacifiers and bottle nipples and toys. I got disposable nursing pads so that we have one less thing to deal with.

Do any of you moms have any tips on dealing with this? If you would share them that would be awesome!

  1. we used tea (you can also use tea tree oil in water too) to wash out aiden's mouth when he had thrush. it cleared it right up

also if you eat an active bacteria yogurt like activia, that could help you too
