The standard American diet is horrible. Not enough fruits and veggies, too much processed foods ect.
Well today while I was grocery shopping with my mom I noticed what the lady in front of us had put in the conveyer belt. There was 4 kinds of fruit punch, a few kinds of soda, hamburger helper, some meat, candy, and not one fruit or vegetable.
Where I live there are a lot of people on food stamps and assistance. Junk food is cheaper than good food, but that really isn't an excuse for eating like that. It isn't good for her or her children.
I'm not saying that my diet is perfect, it is far from perfect. But I do eat whole foods everyday and I am eating a lot more fruits and veggies than I used to. I am still phasing out my teenage diet because I know that I need to set a good example for my son. I am working on cutting out pop again and I need to eat a lot less meat. But at least I'm trying.
